House Republicans have authored a new bill that would grant Americans the right to sue federal employees caught aiding or abetting the suppression of free speech online.
Known as the Censorship Accountability Act, the legislation aims to take down what has come to be known as the Censorship Industrial Complex, a collusive anti-First Amendment initiative being spearheaded by corporations, Big Government, Big Tech, and Big Academia.
Authored by Rep. Dan Bishop (R-N.C.), the Censorship Accountability Act takes direct aim at federal employees who act as enablers, or even orchestrators, of social media censorship on platforms like Facebook and X (formerly known as Twitter).
“The Censorship Industrial Complex should no longer be allowed to operate with impunity, and those who seek to destroy the freedom of speech should have to answer for it in a court of law,” Bishop tweeted in support of his bill.

What the Censorship Accountability Act would do is empower individuals in America to file lawsuits against executive branch employees who in any way help manipulate social media companies into “shadow-banning” posts or banning users for “wrongthink.”
Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) and Harriet Hageman (R-Wyo.) all support the Censorship Accountability Act, which outlines in clear terms the rights and recourse that are available to any U.S. citizen who has been deprived of his or her First Amendment rights to hold complicit federal employees accountable.
“Any federal employee found doing so under the aegis of any official stature or protocol will be liable to legal action,” explains Reclaim the Net about the bill.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Bishop spoke directly about why he feels passing his legislation is critical to the future of the nation.
“Freedom of speech is the bedrock principle of our nation,” Bishop said. “Unfortunately, many malicious actors, especially federal bureaucrats, are bent on undermining the First Amendment and censoring Americans at every turn.”
“Current law allows government agents to censor and suppress free speech with little recourse for those being silenced. My bill will change that by finally allowing Americans to sue federal employees who violate their First Amendment rights. The Censorship Industrial Complex should no longer be allowed to operate with impunity, and those who seek to destroy the freedom of speech should have to answer for it in a court of law.”
The bill states that any federal employee caught depriving, or trying to deprive, any person of his or her First Amendment right “shall be liable to the party injured in an action at law, suit in equity, or other proper proceeding for redress.”
The bill clearly focuses its attention on the Biden regime, which we now know has been colluding with Big Tech and social media companies to do just that: deprive American citizens of their First Amendment rights online.
Bishop’s legislation comes on the heels of a federal judge’s ruling in Missouri v. Biden earlier this month, who found “substantial evidence” of a “censorship campaign” coordinated between the federal government and social media platforms during the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “pandemic.”
In a scathing opinion, that judge compared the Biden regime and its censorship actions to an Orwellian “Ministry of Truth.”
“The resulting injunction restricted some federal agencies and officials from coordinating with social media companies to remove or limit the reach of posts,” reported Fox News.
