Brandon Burden, lead pastor of Kingdom Life Church, has called on the Church to reengage and be a voice in our culture to influence the world.
“We have not been influencing the world, and we’ve not been a voice in our culture. We’ve not provided the moral compass that the world needs,” Burden said during the Dec. 16 episode of “Byline Anew” with Fior Hernandez on Brighteon.TV.
“Now the world basically has seeped into the church, into every arena of society. And now they are passing mandates, executive orders, laws and things that are anti-biblical, anti-God, anti-gospel, anti-Jesus Christ because it’s an anti-Christ spirit that wants to basically control mankind. So the Church has to reengage back into culture.”
Burden took note of the fact that the Church has basically started exiting the culture back in the 1960s and ’70s and it led to the ’80s generation separating itself from the world.
“And so the Church was basically cocooning itself from the culture back in the ’80s. And even before then, we were trying to raise our Christian kids in a little Christian bubble. And we thought that if we could protect our children and keep them away from the world, that the world would not come to the church. Well, the opposite has happened,” noted Burden, who is also the chairman of the Frisco Conservatives Political Action Committee.
“Enough with Eastern mysticism, New Age, Islam, humanism, socialism, Darwinism, totalitarianism and communism. If we do not reconnect our land to God, we’re going to end up in a spiritual vacuum where wicked men and women are in control,” Burden said in a recent speech at the Frisco Conservatives Winter Gala, which was shown during the “Byline Anew” episode.
Burden also took a shot at legislators who call themselves God-fearing Christians but are not passing God-fearing legislation. (Related: Another church vandalized as mainstream media ignores growing anti-Christian attacks.)
He added that his group, the Frisco Conservatives, is basically getting behind pro-conservative candidates that truly are Judeo-Christian values candidates to make sure that they win the primary in March to get on the ticket for the November ballot.
Separation of Church and State
The Kingdom Life Church lead pastor also shared his thoughts about the issue of separation of Church and State. Burden said it is basically something that came out of Thomas Jefferson’s letters to the Danbury Baptists of Connecticut in 1801.
The Danbury Baptists, who sought religious freedom in America, were afraid that the government was going to establish a state religion. And that is why in the First Amendment, specifically the Bill of Rights, there is the freedom of religion to worship the way that it wants.
Burden lamented that we’ve allowed the left to hijack this concept and weaponize it with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or the Johnson Amendment when Lyndon B. Johnson was president. He added that we’ve allowed the IRS to hold a gun to pastors’ heads to not preach anything regarding politics from the pulpit. And this led to the churches and pastors being paralyzed or being afraid to say anything.
The Texas pastor has received backlash from different groups after telling his congregation that they have an “executive order” from God to keep Donald Trump in office and advised them to keep their guns loaded ahead of Joe Biden’s inauguration.
“We have an executive order, not from Congress or D.C., but from the desk of the CEO in heaven, the boss of the planet. He said from His desk in heaven, this is My will: Trump will be in for eight years,” Burden said.
Burden also told church members to carry out the said order, saying: “Take down the walls of Jericho. The Lord says your Jericho is Washington, D.C. That’s your fortified city.”
The Kingdom Life Church pastor said at the time that people should be prepared for any emergency that could take place leading up to Biden’s inauguration on January 20.
“We are locked and loaded at the Burden house,” he said, before criticizing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the Republicans.
“All of them are a bunch of snakes that don’t want Trump. They want him out because Trump is a reformer, Trump is an awakener and Trump is causing this populist, national movement that is neither a Republican nor a Democrat.”
