Will the love for freedom in Texas serve as shining example of liberty for the world?

For hundreds of years now, Texas has served as a haven for liberty. A state that that is more like a sovereign nation — and one day soon, very well could be — Texas has been seen by many as a blueprint for cherishing freedom within the confines of the federal government’s corrupted United States.

Now, even more people are speaking out about how the rest of the country should follow Texas’ lead and accept that freedom, diversity and liberty are the way of the future. Avik Roy, the co-founder and president of the Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity (FREOPP), believes that Texas could potentially inspire people to create a future that is ruled by libertarian ideals.

In an interview with Nick Gillespie of Reason, Roy stated, “It’s not just a free state in the sense of policy, but there really is a sense that everyone feels, whether Anglo or Latino, that freedom has made their lives better … This indigenous thing called Tex-Mex has been around for a very long time. It’s simply not treating the others as if they were others…that attitude makes a huge difference.”

Roy hits the nail on the head here. Identity politics have ruined the way many people view actual diversity in this country and have complicated things beyond measure. Instead of treating people of Mexican descent as human beings with agency, the Regressive Left has decided that they are all oppressed victims who have to fit into one specific identity group. This has led to a multitude of problems — and they are all based on lies.

When human beings treat each other as human beings, they prosper. When there is actual equality, people of all shapes, sizes, colors and genders flourish in a way that simply does not happen otherwise. Anyone who has spent a significant amount of time in Texas knows this very well. People there do not see each other for their races or ethnic backgrounds — they see them for who they really are. That is what is most important.

It is time for the rest of the country — and the rest of the world, even — to catch up with Texas. If we can reach a point where things like race no longer matter, all of our lives will improve dramatically, for a number of reasons. That future is on the horizon. As long as we continue to fight against identity politics, this libertarian future will become a reality.
