California’s loony Democrats have a reputation for banning freedom in all its forms

(Freedom.news) The state of California is so dominated by intolerant liberal Democrats that in many districts Republicans no longer even put forth a candidate. In fact, California is so blue the state has become the poster child of what life would really be like in the rest of the country were it to ever be dominated by like-minded authoritarians.

Consider these “achievements” in just the most recent legislative session:

— On guns: Never high on the Second Amendment’s right of Americans to keep and bear arms, California Democrats, along with Gov. Moonbeam (Jerry Brown), have made extra-sure that the next college campus shooting will claim as many lives as possible. As reported by Red Alert Politics, lawmakers not only banned concealed carry of a weapon on college campuses, but also near college campuses.

“Brown signed legislation which expands an already existing law,” the site reported, citing the Sacramento Bee. “The law on the books made it illegal to possess a gun within 1,000 feet from a college campus or school without permission from the administration. The new legislation now does away with the exemption for those with concealed carry permits.”

But wait – didn’t those other college campuses where shootings have occurred also have rules against bringing weapons to school? Yes, they did – and how did that work out?

No matter. Logic and reason – and constitutional protections – matter little to those with a banning mindset.

— On chewing tobacco: Sticking with the theme that grown adults in America should never have the right to make individual choices for themselves, Brown and his band of banning Democrats actually took time this legislative session to prohibit Major League Baseball players from stuffing a “chaw” in their mouths during ball games in the state.

“With Gov. Jerry Brown signing a bill earlier this week banning the use of smokeless tobacco in all California ballparks, a practice dating to the days of Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb now seems headed toward the sport’s endangered species list,” reports ABC News. California is just one state but it’s home to five of MLB’s 30 teams.

In California, tobacco is evil, but not evil enough not to tax. In fact, in August lawmakers proposed boosting cigarette taxes by $2 a pack.

— High school team mascot names: You had to know this one was coming because it is a priority for loony liberals: Banning team names that are deemed “offensive” by the PC Police. In this case, the team name is “Redskins,” which stems from liberals’ constant harping about the NFL’s Washington Redskins trademarked team name.

Again, California Democrats have nothing better to do than spend the public’s dime on banning high school team names, apparently. How nice it must be to have already solved the state’s other problems – like dealing with too large a population in a desert/drought-prone climate.

— Promoting premature death at every juncture: Now, if you want to operate a pregnancy center anywhere in the state, you will be banned from doing so unless you promote abortion – because, you know, women who are pregnant and want to remain so should nonetheless be exposed to the “choice” of killing their unborn child even if they’ve never been interested in that, Lifesite News reports.

— Promoting more death while banning more choice: On the one hand, Brown has signed a euthanasia bill into law, allowing doctors to give patients life-ending drugs, while at the same time vetoing a law that would have allowed terminally ill patients who want to live the right to try non-FDA approved experimental medications. Of course.

California’s anti-choice, anti-individualism, anti-constitutional, anti-freedom Democrats can’t seem to allow residents in the state the right to make their own decisions, think for themselves or act in their own best interests. Imagine, if you can, what the rest of the country would be like if these little Stalins were in power nationally.
